Nobuo Takase Shihan is the Chief Instructor of Aikido Shinryukan and Technical Director for New Zealand Aikikai, and also the New Zealand representative of the World Aikido Headquarters Tokyo Japan. Born on February 6th 1947 in Himeji, Japan, Takase Shihan began studying Aikido at Kogakkan University in Ise, Japan. His early teachers were Chiba, Kanai, Ichihashi and Watanabe Shihan and O-Sensei – as well as other senior World Aikido Headquarters Shihan in Japan. In 1969, at the age of 22, Takase Shihan emigrated to New Zealand with the intention of introducing the art of Aikido across the country. In late 1984, he established the first Shinryukan dojo in Auckland. Since then, Shinryukan has spread throughout New Zealand to include over 20 Shinryukan dojos. In China, Shinryukan dojos were established in Beijing and Tianjin. Other Shinryukan dojos exist in Australia, Scotland, and Samoa.

This will be Takase Shihan´s first visit to China since 2019. After a long interruption due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are very excited to welcome Sensei back to Beijing. All Aikido practicioners are cordially invited to take this valuable opportunity to receive instruction from an outstanding teacher and to meet old and new Aikido friends.
