"Falling into Form"

Information: Dear Aikido friends,



Across dojos, styles, lineages, and generations, we are all connected by the same path — the path of Aikido. Whether you are a beginner taking your first ukemi or an experienced practitioner who has walked this road for many years, this invitation is for you.



We are proud to invite the entire Aikido community in the Netherlands to a special international seminar titled “Falling into Form.” This seminar is not just about technique. It is about rediscovering the essence of practice — falling, rising, blending, and returning again to form. Every ukemi is a lesson. Every movement is a chance to reconnect with the spirit of Aikido.



To guide us on this journey, we are honoured to welcome two exceptional teachers:

Miguelangel Becerra (Aikikai Aikido Valencia) and

Sherwin Retemyer (New York Aikikai).



Both teachers bring deep experience, powerful energy, and a shared passion for authentic Aikido. Their teaching will focus on the connection between ukemi, movement, structure, and weapons practice — helping us understand how falling itself shapes our form.



This seminar is open to everyone in the world of Aikido — all dojos, all affiliations, all levels. Beginners, advanced students, instructors, and teachers are all warmly welcome. Let’s come together on the mat not as separate groups, but as one community sharing one practice.



Please bring your bokken and jo, as part of the seminar will focus on how weapons practice strengthens body movement, balance, timing, and structure — the foundation of true form.
