Nagarekai Dojo Opening Weekend Seminar

Information: Aikido has arrived in Naantali on a full scale for the first time, even though the local aikido history is vast. The summer camps of old of the Finnish Aikikai and the yearly Velkua seminar held by Juhani Laisi Shihan. Still no club to call our own for years, until now. Our young dojo is happy to welcome all of you to celebrate this momentous occasion with teachers and trainees dear to us.



We are delighted to welcome a top trio of instructors who have served as role models for local teachers: Teemu Kurki Shidoin (5th dan, aikikai), Joon Tervakari Shidoin (5th dan, aikikai), and Jani Konttila (4th dan, aikikai). In addition, some training will be led by the club’s own head instructor and a student of the aforementioned teachers, Eemeli Virta Fukushidoin (3rd dan, aikikai).



We will most likely also practise weapons techniques during the seminar, so it is a good idea to bring your own bokken and jo to ensure that there is enough equipment for everyone.



On Saturday evening, we will jointly organise a celebratory embukai, and we hope that as many of the clubs/people present as possible will participate with their own demonstration segment.
