Thank you, as always, for using Aikido Travel.

Some of you may have already noticed, but our seminar page has recently been updated!
To make it easier to navigate and understand, we’ve implemented two major changes:

1️⃣ About the Style Designation

Previously, the "Association" field allowed users to enter information freely.  
However, our intention to list the **style** wasn't clearly conveyed, and many users entered their **dojo name** instead.  
As a result, the information sometimes lacked clarity.

To resolve this, we now offer four representative styles as options, along with “Other” and “Unknown” (though this one isn’t expected to be used currently).  
Depending on future needs, we may expand or revise these selections.

This adjustment aims to help prospective participants easily determine whether a seminar aligns with their own Aikido style in advance.

2️⃣ About the Hosting Dojo

Many users were previously entering dojo names in the "Association" field,  
so we’ve now created a **dedicated field to specify the hosting dojo name**.

This ensures greater clarity regarding seminar organizers and their affiliated groups.  
If the host is an organization rather than a dojo, please enter the organization name here.

Confirming Seminar Updates

We’ve updated seminar pages according to the new format for all events **scheduled after August 7, 2025**,  
but there may be some omissions or incorrect entries.

In such cases, **seminar organizers or contributors can edit the page directly**.

How to Update:
1. Visit the seminar page  
2. Click the “...” button at the top-right of the poster  
3. Make your edits in the editor  
4. Click the “Update Seminar” button at the bottom of the page to save

Other Small Updates

- Moved the search box to the bottom of the page  
- Added labels before each field  
- ‍ Added “Sensei” after instructor names  
- Increased spacing between fields for better readability  
- Reduced font size in map descriptions and included hotel affiliate links as travel tips  
- Removed “Seminar” and “Calendar” links from the left sidebar

 What’s Next

Due to current developer workload, improvements will continue gradually.  
We're also planning to introduce dedicated profile pages for dojos and instructors, making the site even more comprehensive and user-friendly.

すでにお気づきの方もいらっしゃるかと思いますが、このたび セミナーページが新しくなりました！より分かりやすく、使いやすいページを目指して、以下の２点を大きく変更しております。

1️⃣ 流派の記載について

これまでは「Association」の項目に、皆さまが自由に内容を記入できるようになっていましたが、
「流派」を記載していただくという意図が伝わりにくく、道場名を記載されるケースが見受けられました。

その結果、情報に曖昧さが生じることがありました。

そこで今回、代表的な流派を4つ提示し、あわせて「その他」と「不明（現在のところ利用例はないと思われます）」の選択肢を加えました。

今後の状況に応じて、選択肢の追加や変更も検討していく予定です。
この改訂により、セミナーの参加を検討されている方々が、事前にご自身の所属流派との関連性を確認しやすくなります。

2️⃣ 主催道場の記載について

これまで「Association」の項目に道場名をご記入いただくことが多かったため、
主催道場名を明記できる専用項目を新たに設けました。

これにより、セミナー主催者の情報や所属団体が、より明確に表示されるようになります。
主催が道場ではなく団体の場合も、こちらの項目にご記入ください。

変更済みセミナーのご確認について

**2025年8月7日以降に開催されるセミナー**については、新しい仕様に基づき変更を行ったつもりですが、  
一部抜けや記載ミスが残っている可能性もあります。

その場合は、セミナー主催者さま、または情報を掲載された方ご本人による修正が可能です。

変更手順 

1. 該当セミナーページにアクセス  
2. ポスター右上の「･･･」ボタンをクリック  
3. 編集画面にて内容を修正  
4. ページ下部の「Update Seminar」ボタンを押して保存完了！

その他の細かい変更点

- 検索ボックスをページ下部へ移動  
- 項目の前に項目名を表示  
- ‍ 講師名の後に「Sensei」を追加  
- 各項目間の余白を広めに設定  
- 地図の説明文を小さくし、ホテルの便利情報としてアフィリエイトを挿入  
- ページ左側の「Seminar」・「Calendar」リンクを削除

プログラマーが現在多忙のため、改善は少しずつ進めてまいりますが、  
今後は 道場や講師の詳細ページの新設など、さらに使いやすく、充実したサイトを目指しております。

The heat is still lingering, but exciting updates about overseas seminars continue to arrive.

In this post, we’re happy to share the Aikikai Hombu Dojo instructors' overseas seminars scheduled for October 2025, arranged chronologically. We hope this information helps those planning to attend.

Yoshinobu Irie Shihan – Aikido Seminar in Jakarta, Indonesia

Organizer: Shin Getsu Kai

Date: October 10–12, 2025

This is the annual seminar by Irie Shihan held in Jakarta.

This year, the hosting dojo has changed, marking the beginning of a new chapter.

I had the opportunity to attend this seminar once, and the students were incredibly kind and friendly—it was easy to connect with them.

The organizers were also thoughtful throughout, ensuring everyone had a comfortable and enjoyable training experience.

From late September to October, Jakarta will host seminars led by four Aikido Shihan, including Irie Shihan:

🌿 Starting the Aikido Travel Blog

Hello! We’re excited to begin sharing updates through the Aikido Travel blog.

This website is run by myself, Kaori, together with Michael.

Our regular training takes place at Aikikai Hombu Dojo in Tokyo, though we also visit other dojos from time to time.

In New Zealand, we train with the Shinryukan head and branch dojos, and we attend seminars both locally and abroad whenever possible.

If you happen to see us at an event or seminar, feel free to say hello!

✈️ Why We Started This Blog

A while ago, while planning a trip, I wanted to attend an Aikido seminar at my travel destination.

I searched online, hoping to find something, but eventually gave up because no information was available.

Later, after booking flights, ferry tickets, and accommodation, I discovered that a seminar was taking place on a neighboring island—after everything was already arranged.

It was a missed opportunity that left me wishing there were a better way to stay informed.

That experience sparked the idea:

a place where Aikido seminars around the world could be shared and found in one place.
And so, Aikido Travel was born.

We hope this site will help foster connections through seminars and become a resource that’s useful to many.

It would be impossible for the two of us to track seminars around the globe alone.

このウェブサイトは、私 Kaori とマイケルで一緒に運営しています。

私たちは普段、合気会合気道本部道場を中心に稽古しており、ときどき他の道場にもお邪魔しています。

ニュージーランドでは、神龍館の本部や支部にもお世話になりながら、国内外問わずセミナーに参加させてもらっています。

もし道場やセミナーなどで見かけた際は、ぜひお気軽に声をかけてくださいね。

✈️なぜこのブログを始めたのか

ある時、旅の計画を立てる中で「もし旅行先で合気道のセミナーがあれば参加したい」と思い、ネットで調べてみました。

けれどなかなか情報が見つからず、諦めてしまったことがあります。

ところが、飛行機もフェリーも宿もすでに手配した後に、隣の島でセミナーが開催されていたことを知り…

その時、「あのタイミングで知っていれば」と悔しい思いをしました。

そんな経験から、合気道セミナーを世界中からまとめて見られるサイトがあればいいのに――

そう思ったのが、Aikido Travelの始まりです。

セミナーを通して世界中の人と交流できるような、そして誰かの役に立てるサイトに育てていきたいと思っています。

世界中のセミナー情報を、私たちだけで集めるのは難しいことです。  

それでも今こうして情報を発信できているのは、皆さんのお力添えのおかげです。

Aikido Travelでは、ログインいただくと、皆さんのセミナー情報も投稿できる仕組みがあります。
